Gaston County Rugby Football Club Celebrates 20 Years with Rugby Mashup

20th Anniversary Announcement

Gaston County Rugby Football Club (GCRFC), a beacon of rugby sport in the local community, is celebrating a momentous occasion this year - two decades of fostering an unparalleled love for the sport and fostering the values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship that underpin this exceptional game.

Marking 20 years of robust growth and influential contributions to local and national rugby, the GCRFC is hosting a commemorative rugby mashup event. The event is scheduled for August 5, 2023, within the picturesque environs of Martha Rivers Park, Gastonia, NC.

Since its inception in 2003, GCRFC has played an instrumental role in the promotion and development of rugby in the Gaston County region. In line with its ethos of community inclusivity, the club warmly extends an invitation to all for this milestone celebration.

Participants certified through USA Rugby's Club and Individual Participation Program (CIPP) are invited to partake in the exciting, spirited games set to kick off at 12pm. This offers an extraordinary opportunity to engage with fellow rugby enthusiasts, showcasing the skills and tactics that make rugby such a riveting sport.

Following the conclusion of the games, the festivities will continue upstairs at The Bearded Buffalo in Belmont. The Bearded Buffalo provides the ideal setting for participants, spectators, and enthusiasts to connect, discuss the day's events, and revel in the shared love of rugby.

However, participation in the rugby mashup is not a prerequisite for involvement in this event. The club invites community members to join in the festivities, whether that involves watching the games, cheering on the participants, or simply enjoying a day of camaraderie and shared community spirit at Martha Rivers Park.

Mark August 5th in your calendars, and prepare to join us for a memorable celebration of rugby and community spirit. As we commemorate the past twenty years, we look forward to the continued growth and success of the Gaston County Rugby Football Club.

Further details pertaining to the event can be obtained by contacting Austin Duncan directly or through updates on the official GCRFC website and social media platforms. Here's to a successful event and to many more years of rugby excellence in Gaston County.
